Nathaniel Uy, also known as @thehungrychef to Instagram users, is a cook by profession, a foodie at heart, and always hungry by choice. In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication in De La Salle- University Manila even though his real passion was in food. Unable to quench his love for food, he enrolled in the International School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management (ISCAHM), wherein he graduated Third Honor and received a Bronze Medal for an in-school competition. In 2013, he completed a Restaurant Entrepreneurship course under the same institution. He has also attended several short courses in different schools and by different chefs, to further enhance his skills in cooking and baking.
Nathaniel has been featured in different GMA News and Public Affairs shows and CNN Philippines, as “culinary expert”, talking about preparing food for the holidays and for family gatherings and other food topics. At present, aside from being an “instablogger”, he also operates a home-based commissary, which sells food trays, charcuterie or processed meat, and other food products depending on the request of his clients. He also has taught a short culinary course to high school students in the last year. Moreover, he is consultant and adviser for a certain restaurant located in San Juan, which serves western cuisine.
