Cavite is not usually part of any “gastronomic trail”. Cavite is often overlooked by people going to Batangas, which is known for its Bulalo, Lomi, Coffee, and travelers bound for Laguna, for its Puto.

However, a lunch at Island Cove Fishing Village completely changed my mind about Cavite and its cuisine. This province has more to offer to visitors than just their Annatto tinted food products.

The Shangri-La International Festival of Gastronomy 2016 @ Samba, Shangri-La Fort

It is not everyday one can say that he has been cooked food by the World’s Best Chef, more so TWO of Latin America’s Best Chefs in one night.

The Shangri-La International Festival of Gastronomy comes to Manila for the very first time at Samba in Shangri-La Fort with Chef Mitsuharu Tsumura of Maido, and for one night only cooks together with Chef Virgilio Martinez of Central.

Most often than not, I am hungry. But let’s face it… It is very difficult to find good food on-the-go. Especially when you only have few minutes to spare for lunch or snack break, it is quite hard to find the perfect food that you can bring around in the car, while walking, or even while on the desk working.

Thankfully, Tokyo Tokyo introduced a Makirrito line that features a combination of the two most popular dishes in the world—maki and burrito.
