It was just an ordinary morning, I was looking for a place to collect my thoughts. I was not really keen on going anywhere far, but when the idea of visiting a new bakery comes into mind… I just have to drop everything, and found myself en route to The Breadery.
I LOVE bread. How can I not? The science of bread simply amazes me. Turning ordinary flour into something spectacular. The scent of freshly baked bread in the morning is invigorating.
The Breadery in Ortigas is a feast for the senses. The whiff of freshly baked bread, the visually appealing display of assorted pastries, breads being prepared right on the spot. The seduction of it all just melts me upon entering the store. I just drool imagining how these baked goods will taste like. :))
If a bakery carries “laminated dough”, or croissants, danishes, pain au chocolate, flaky pastries. I would usually order these as basis if a bakery serves good bread or not. By the way, the store offers free taste. I simply asked the server what she can recommend. She told me to try their “Ham and Cheese Croissant”. So I did, and I got hooked. It was so damn good! I would guess they used sharp Cheddar Cheese over Ham, with some sort of peppery Béchamel Sauce on the bottom. Everything worked really well.
I brought some home to share with the family. But it ended up with me eating most of the loot. Mom and I loved their Lemon Pie. The lemon custard has the right amount of tanginess, sweetness, consistency.
