I was so lucky to have rediscovered Bohol recently. 🙂 The island is not new to me at all, we used this place as “escape” whenever we go to Cebu during lent.
But during my 3 or 4 visits to the province, we would usually just go to the same tourist spots… Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, Tarsier Sanctuary. Don’t get me wrong, these sites are a must… But it also gets tiring to be honest (try doing that yearly)…
*Photos were taken using Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The ultimate device for people who want to do bigger things, the Galaxy Note8 provides consumers with an enhanced S Pen for a more realistic writing experience, Samsung’s best-ever dual-lens smartphone camera to capture stunning photos, and a larger Infinity Display that fits comfortably in one hand. The Galaxy Note8 is designed for the way consumers lead their lives and lean on technology today.*
To start of this blog series, let me start with great food options for you to try on your next visit to the wonderful island or islands of Bohol.
We were fortunate enough to have stayed in Bluewater Panglao that is known to serve AWESOME dishes, aside from offering warm hospitality, Filipinos are known for.
In Bluewater Panglao’s Aplaya restaurant do order their Ube Kinampay Drink. In general, when in Bohol… Order Ube Kinampay as often as you can.
Ube Kinampay is an Ube variety that is a staple and sacred crop in Bohol. Bluewater’s version is that of a drink with coconut water, and tapioca pearls. Really refreshing!!!
Another dish that is a MUST when in Bluewater’s is their Adobo Rice!!! I know there are so many others that makes Adobo Rice, but what makes theirs special is the rice itself. The rice was chewy like newly harvested rice, or glutinous rice, and fragrant enough like Jasmin rice. Really good!!! Just to add, do order their Nilaw-Oy as well. 🙂
