Love is celebrated 365 days a year, but The Peninsula Manila wants the fire to burn extra bright on Valentine’s Day as it helps set the mood for couples to express their amour while indulging in romantic delights that range from spending the night sipping wine in beautiful guestrooms, delighting in intimate dinners in Old Manila, The Lobby, Escolta or Spices, luxuriating in relaxing massages with a loved one at The Peninsula Spa, nibbling on sweet delights at The Peninsula Boutique or showering that special someone with blooms from The Flower Shop.

ESCOLTA

One need look no further than Chef Rufino Dungca’s buffet specials in Escolta to find the quickest and most delicious way to their lovers’ hearts.  He suggests celebrating early on February 11 with the Ultimate Sunday Valentine’s Brunch where lovers can enjoy culinary delights cooked with passion and slake their thirst with free-flowing Champagne. P4,300 per person.

On February 14 itself, Escolta is serving up the most sensual Valentine’s Day Seafood Dinner Buffet with free-flowing sparkling wines and beer. P3,600 per person.

All ladies dining in Escolta on these dates will receive a beautiful Peninsula long-stemmed red rose to take home with them.

THE LOBBY

It is said that the closer one’s proximity to fire, the higher the romance quotient. So it follows that enjoying a classic Peninsula Afternoon Tea replete with delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and French pastries and a steaming pot of tea, or dining on a specially created and delicious three-course dinner menu under The Lobby’s magnificent “Sunburst” on February 14 is all one needs to stoke the fires of love.

P1,650 per person for a Peninsula Afternoon Tea set with a flute of Champagne and P2,550 per person for a three-course dinner menu.

OLD MANILA

All five senses will be stimulated when guests delight in Old Manila Chef de Cuisine Allan Briones’ sensory four-course Valentine’s dinner menu that will have taste buds tingling with delight on February 14.

Foie gras parfait with macerated berries, salted caramel, toasted oats, red wine gelée on a raisin baguette; Lobster bisque with coconut foam, kaffir lime and lobster bruschetta; Herb-crusted scallops with pumpkin gnocchi, cranberry, chanterelle and Champagne nage; Slow-roasted Wagyu beef tenderloin with celeriac purée, poached asparagus, ratte potato and truffle butter; and “Passion” (Araguani 72% chocolate and maracuja feuillantine) are among the stars of his menu. Paired with a glass of Champagne or artfully selected wines, this is one Valentine’s dinner that is not to be missed.
